Lonnie Erdmann Obituary

Lonnie H. Erdmann, age 76, of Manitowoc passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at his home.

Lonnie was born on July 12, 1949, in Sheboygan, son of the late Herbert and Dorothy (Leiteritz) Erdmann. He was a 1967 graduate of Lincoln High School. Lonnie married the former Lynn Strzyzewski on September 7, 1968 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era, carrying with him a lifelong sense of duty, humility, and courage. A man of strong faith, Lonnie was devoted to his Lutheran beliefs and lived his life guided by service, family, and integrity. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, and steadfast commitment to those he loved. Lonnie was an active member and treasurer at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manitowoc, a member of Vietnam Veteran Association Chapter 731, and a Notary Republic of the State of Wisconsin since 2009. He spent 48 years with Eck Industries, where he built a long and dedicated career prior to retiring. Lonnie recently participated in the Honor Flight to Washington D.C.

Lonnie is survived by his wife of 57 years: Lynn Erdmann, Manitowoc; one daughter: Lisa Erdmann, Manitowoc; one grandson: Coi Erdmann and his significant other Maegan Mendivil, Manitowoc; one great-grandchild: Kayden Erdmann; five brothers and one sister: Glenn (Lois) Erdmann, Appleton, Allen (Bev) Erdmann, Manitowoc, Gene Erdmann, Manitowoc, Dale Erdmann, Manitowoc, Betteann (David) Radue, Manitowoc, Mark (Debbie) Erdmann, Manitowoc; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Rodney (Rachel) Strzyzewski, Manitowoc, Faith Gannon, FL, Charles Jagemann, Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Herbert and Dorothy Erdmann; infant sister: Karen Erdmann; two brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law: Elaine Erdmann, Patrick Gannon, Guy (Karen) Strzyzewski, Sue Jagemann, father-in-law and mother-in-law: Ervin and Marion Strzyzewski.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2601 S 10th St, Manitowoc. Rev. Heather Yerion-Keck will officiate. Military honors will immediately follow at the church and be accorded by the Vietnam Veterans Association Chapter 731. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Knollwood Memorial Gardens.
