Lowell Eugene Kappel

Lowell Eugene Kappel, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at Waterford in Plymouth.

Lowell was born on June 26, 1933 in Sheboygan to the late Eugene and Ruth (Moll) Kappel. He graduated from Random Lake High School. Lowell worked as a truck driver for Bolens for 36 years. On January 19, 1955 he married the former Lilly Bintzler. He was the treasurer of Ridge Runners Sports Men, president of Adell Sportsmen Club and Lake Ellen Association. He was also a part of the Adell Volunteer Fire Department and drove the stock car for the Plymouth Racetrack. Lowell enjoyed trap shooting, pool, hunting, fishing, and playing cards.

Lowell is survived by his wife: Lilly Kappel; son: Richard Kappel; daughter: Kim (Randy) Zahn; grandchildren: Brent (Angela) Zahn, Kyle Zahn, Lauren (Taylor) Rusniak, and Ryan (Amanda) Kappel; great-grandchildren: Sadie, Selah, Toby, Callum, Rachel, and Zoey; and sisters: Mary Kappel and Ruth Krossin. He is preceded in death by his parents: Eugene and Ruth Kappel.

A Memorial service to celebrate Lowell’s life will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026 at 12:00 pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 509 Milwaukee Ave., Cascade, with Rev. Richard Bidinger officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday, June 8, 2026 at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm.
