Lucille D. Neelands

Lucille D. Neelands, age 99 of Manitowoc passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.

The former Lucille Holme was born on February 17, 1925, at Hubbell, MI a daughter of the late Edward and Jennie (Aho) Holme. She grew up on Tamarack Hill where she enjoyed ice skating and fishing on Lake Superior with her father. Lucille was a 1944 graduate of Dollar Bay High School. On August 23, 1952, Lucille was married to Robert Neelands in Laurium, MI. He preceded her in death on December 10, 2006. The couple moved to Manitowoc in 1996 and enjoyed visiting the copper country on their summer vacations.

Survivors include her five children: Marcia (Tom) Crawford, Salt Lake City, UT, Karen (Shel) Neelands-Harras, Salt Lake City, UT, Brian Neelands, Monroe, MI, Michael Neelands, Monroe, MI, Timothy Neelands, Manitowoc; three grandchildren: Taryn, Zachary, and Matthew; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Edward and Jennie Holme; her husband: Robert Neelands; one brother and one sister.

Family graveside services will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Calumet, MI.
