Margaret "Peggy" Braun Obituary

Margaret “Peggy” Braun, age 73, of Cato, passed away on November 23, 2024 after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Peggy was born on June 26, 1951 in Manitowoc to Grace (Taydch) McGuire and the late Richard McGuire. She was a 1969 graduate of Valders High School. On May 6, 1972 she married Roger Braun at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Whitelaw.

Peggy is survived by her husband: Roger Braun of Cato; daughter: Shelly (Craig) Wendling, Collins; sons: Mark (Sakinah) Braun, Whitelaw, Daniel (Nicole) Braun, Reedsville, and Casey (fiancé Vicky Koeppen) Braun, Cato; grandchildren: Luke, Holly, and Mason Wendling, Aaliyah, Thomas, Micah and Autumn Braun, Calla (fiancé Brady Lorrigan) Braun, Hannah Dvorachek, Natalie and Sophia Braun, Jessica (Devin) Schamburek, Erin (fiancé Landon Kasper) Braun, Casey Braun Jr,. and Samantha Braun; great-grandchildren: Victoria and Elianna Dvorachek, and Brock and Bexley Schamburek; daughter-in-law: Susie Braun, Whitelaw; mother: Grace McGuire, Manitowoc; brother: Tim (Dee) McGuire; twin brother: Pat (Peggy) McGuire; sisters: Connie (Mark) Jacobs, Maureen (Tom) Gray, and Amy (Kevin) Edgar; sisters-in-law: Marilyn (Jim) Cihowiak, Linda (Tim) Hansen, Susan Braun,  and Kathy (Marty) Fredenberg; brothers-in-law: David Braun, and Joe (Kim) Braun; special friends: Donna Tisler Behnke, and Pam Shavlik; and her loyal and loving dog, Masie, who always knew when mom needed extra snuggles, and often wouldn’t leave her side.

 Peggy was preceded in death by her daughter: Katie Braun; grandson: Christopher Barlament; father: Richard McGuire; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Reinhold and Louise Braun; sisters-in-law: Debra Braun, Beverly Braun, and Lois Schroeder; brothers-in-law: James Braun, and Dennis Braun; and niece: Marta Hansen.

Per Peggy’s wishes, the family will host a private celebration of life at a later date.
