Maria A. Longoria

Maria A. Longoria, age 98 of Sheboygan, died late on Sunday evening, October 17, 2021 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.

The former Maria A. Vergara was born on September 9, 1923 in Kingsville, Texas daughter of the late Juan and Maria (Gutierrez) Vergara. In 1944, Maria was married to Nieves Longoria Sr. in Texas. He preceded her in death on June 22, 1975. Over the years the family lived in Texas, Manitowoc and Sheboygan. Maria enjoyed music, dancing, singing and watching TV.

Survivors include her children: Refugio Longoria, Milwaukee, Maria Teresa Wheeler, Sheboygan, San Juanita F. Knox, Humble, TX, Juan Jose Longoria Sr., Milwaukee, Virginia Baker, Milwaukee, Norma St. John, Big Bend, Dolores St. John, Concor, TX, Acencion Frederick, Elkhart Lake; 46 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son: Santiago Longoria; one daughter: Maria Erlinda Camarillo; one step-daughter: Ignacia Rios; one step-son: Nieves Longoria Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 25, 2021 at the Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 1122 South 8th Street, Manitowoc. The Rev. Santos Medina Sr. will officiate with burial to follow at the Calvary Cemetery in Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
