Marilyn Weber Obituary

Marilyn Jane Weber, 96, of Newton, WI passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021. She was born on October 17, 1925 in Manitowoc to John and Florence (Mrotek) Pracki. Marilyn lived in Manitowoc and graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School where she worked as a secretary after graduation. On June 28, 1947, she married Gardy Matthew Weber.

Gardy and Marilyn moved to her family farm in Newton in 1956, where they raised their eight children. Moving from Manitowoc to the farm allowed her family to grow and enjoy open spaces and healthy food which she raised in her quarter-acre garden. Marilyn continued to harvest vegetables in her garden well into her 80’s. She also raised goats to give her family milk, and cattle to supply meat.

Marilyn was a very talented seamstress and made clothing and quilts to keep her kids warm in the winter. Her hobbies included knitting, spinning wool and teaching knitting to her 4H group. Marilyn’s most-loved time was preparing meals for her big family in her warm country kitchen.

Marilyn was a life-long member of St. Casimir Parish in Northeim and St. Thomas the Apostle Parish. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Gardy, her parents, a sister, Gladys, and brother, Jim, daughter-in-law, Shannon, sons-in-law, Brian and Gregg, grandchildren, Janelle and Ben.

She is survived by her four daughters, Judith (Jerome) Kiel, Mary Weber, Nancy Weber, Connie (Jack) Langjhar, and four sons, Gardy Thomas Weber, Larry (Judy) Weber, Steven Weber, and Todd (Wendy) Weber.
