Marion B. Stegeman

Marion B. Stegeman, age 97, of Manitowoc, passed away Saturday May 10, 2025, at her residence under hospice care surrounded by her loved ones.

The former Marion Dose was born on September 13, 1927, in the Town of Two Rivers, the daughter of William and Helen (Ploeckelman) Dose. Helen was a 1944 graduate of Two Rivers Washington High School. On September 18, 1946, Marion was married to Paul Stegeman at Emanuel Evangelical Church in Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on December 13, 2015.

The first 10 years of their marriage the couple farmed in the Town of Kossuth and Marion was employed at the Two Rivers Vocational School in the office for 13 years. Marion was later employed for 33 years at Invincible Metal Furniture in their office until her retirement in 1990.          She volunteered with activities at Hamilton Home and delivered Meals on Wheels for several years.

Marion was a lifelong member of Emanuel Methodist Church now known as Lakeshore United Methodist Church. She was active with the Emanuel United Methodist Women, financial secretary of Emanuel United Methodist Church for 15 years and sang with Emanuel’s choir for many years.

Survivors include 10 nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends also survive. Marion was preceded in death by her parents: William and Helen Dose; her husband: Paul Stegeman; her twin sister and brother-in-law: Mrytle (Roy) Ulrich; one brother and sister-in-law: Erwin (Corrine) Dose; one sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law: Shirley Hoefle Potter and Ron Hoefle and Boyd Potter and two nephews.  

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday May 24, 2025 at the Lakeshore United Methodist Church, 411 Reed Avenue, Manitowoc. The Rev.’s Cherie Forret and Tara Tetzlaff will officiate with a burial to follow in the Pioneers Rest Cemetery, Two Rivers. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 10:00 AM.
