Marjorie Czekala Obituary

Marjorie J. Czekala, age 80 of Manitowoc entered eternal life on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.

Marjorie was born on January 2, 1943, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Markus and Lenore (Lenz) Neuser. She was baptized into Gods Kingdom of Grace on January 22, 1943. Marjorie was confirmed at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church on April 14, 1957. She grew up in Manitowoc and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1961. On April 27, 1963, Marjorie was united in marriage to Richard “Chick” Czekala at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church by the Rev. Armin Roekle and was blessed with a happy marriage for 53 years. Marjorie graduated from the Manitowoc County Teacher’s college in 1967 and Holy Family College with a Bachelor of Science, Magna Cum Laude in 1971. She was a teacher in the New Holstein Public School system for 31 years retiring in 1998. Marjorie graduated from the John Robert Powers Advanced Professional Modeling Program in 1989 and made many local TV commercials. She received her Real Estate license in 1992. Marjorie was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church and the Bethany Ladies Aid. During their 53 years of marriage Marjorie enjoyed her many travels with her husband Chick and their special love for the city of London.

Survivors include: one sister and brother-in-law: Mavourneen (Don) Backus, Somers, CT; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Albert (Margaret) Czekala, Daniel (Gen) Czekala, all of Manitowoc; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends survive. She held a special closeness to her nephews: Colin and Clark Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents: Markus and Lenore Neuser; her husband: Richard “Chick” Czekala; her sister: Kaye Ann Smith; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Albert and Alice Czekala.

Private family graveside services will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery, the Rev. Robert Kujawski will officiate.
