Marjorie A. “Marge” Preder, age 90, Elkhart Lake passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Homestead Health Services in New Holstein.
Marge was born on August 1, 1935, in Sheboygan County, a daughter of the late Garret and Mary (Mulder) Lemkuil. She was a 1953 graduate of Kohler High School. On September 19, 1953, Marge married Raymond J. Preder at The First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls. He preceded her in death on March 10, 2007. She worked at various manufacturing facilities including Gilson Company and Toro of Plymouth and Sohn Manufacturing of Elkhart Lake. Marge retired from the Elkhart Lake Public School system.
Marge was an active member of St. Peter Ev. Church in the town of Rhine. Marge and Ray were involved for several years on the committee for the Town of Rhine Memorial Day Picnic. Whenever there was a church project, Marge could be found volunteering. Marge, Ray, and family operated the Elkhart Lake Fireman’s Park.
It can be said of Marge that she put all that she had into everything that she did including loving and spending time with her family and friends. She was faithful in attending her grandchildren’s school events and will be remembered for the thousands of jars of the delicious, canned fruits and vegetables she put together throughout the years.
Survivors include three daughters and their husbands: Kay (Thomas) Sippel, Town of Rhine, Paula (Howie) Weiss, Glenbeulah, Jackie (Jon) Ausloos, St. Anna; four sons and their wives: Ronald (Barb) Preder, Elkhart Lake, Randy (Judy) Preder, Kiel, Steven (Carol) Preder, St. Cloud, Brian (Nancy) Preder, St. Cloud; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one sister: Marian Lisowe, Elkhart Lake; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Garret and Mary Lemkuil; her husband: Raymond J. Preder; five sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Wittkopp Funeral Home, 123 South St., Plymouth. The Rev. Ted McCurdy will officiate with burial to follow at the Greenlawn Memorial Park in Kohler. Relatives and friends may call at the Wittkopp Funeral Home on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m.
