Marlene Zahn Obituary

Marlene R. Zahn, age 82, of Tender Reflections Assisted Living, Manitowoc, passed away early Thursday morning, January 11, 2018, at Tender Reflections Assisted Living.The former Marlene Gigure was born on August 30, 1935 in Manitowoc daughter of the late Marvin and Luella (Poirier) Gigure. As a child Marlene attended St. Paul's Catholic School and graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School in 1953. Marlene then graduated from Marian College in Fond du Lac. On October 27, 1962 Marlene was married to Neil A. Gibeault at St. Paul Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Neil preceded her in death on October 6, 1979. She worked in various professions through out the years. On June 26, 2004 Marlene married John A. Zahn in Illinois and the couple lived in Fond du Lac. Prior to her marriage to John she belonged to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Parish, Newton. Marlene moved back to Manitowoc in November 2015 to live in assisted living to help with her health care.Survivors include her husband: John A. Zahn, Fond du Lac; her daughter and son-in-law: Michelle (Chris) Neuser, Cato; her son and daughter-in-law: Todd (Tonia) Gibeault, Manitowoc; her two grandsons: Emmett and Seth Gibeault, Manitowoc; two step-daughters: Ellen (Jay) Fink, Fond du Lac; Heidi Shaw, Fond du Lac; four step-grandchildren: Alyssa, Amanda, Erin and Kori; three step-great-grandchildren: Emberlynn, Paityn and Nicholas; one sister: Jean Zunker, Janesville; three brothers and five sisters-in-law: William (Shirlee) Gigure, Manitowoc; Donald Gigure, Appleton; David (Marilyn) Gigure, Sun City West, AZ; Beverly Novak, Manitowoc; Cherie Steifvater, FL; Eunice Howard, GA, nieces, nephews, and friends also survive. She is preceded in death by her parents: Marvin and Luella Gigure; her first husband; Neil A. Gibeault; one sister: Anella Teteak; one brother: Lawrence Gigure; one sister-in-law: Marilyn Gigure; three brothers-in-law: Ronald Zunker; Richard Steifvater; Joe Howard; special friend: Shirley Edmond.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 1122 South 8th Street, Manitowoc. The Rev. David Beaudry will officiate with cremation to follow and burial of her cremated remains at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mishicot. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow the service in the funeral home.
