Mary (Sleck) Springer

Mary (Sleck) Springer, age 93, of Manitowoc, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Rivers Bend Health & Rehab, Manitowoc.

Mary Was born June 24, 1929, in Tyndall, South Dakota, daughter to the late Walter Leopold and Mary (Pfeifer) Sleck.  She was united in marriage to Earnest M. Springer. After their divorce, he preceded her in death November 10, 1992.

Mary worked at Memorial Hospital, in Manitowoc, as a head cook and retired after 20 years.

Mary’s number one love was the time she would spend with her children. Her number one passion was butterflies. Mary enjoyed fishing with the family, playing the accordion with Earnest for local bars, playing cards, and domino’s. But most of all she loved to visit with her family and loved shopping at Walmart.

Survivor’s include her children Rose Mary Springer and friend Terry of Two Rivers, Carolyn Krause and friend  Al of Escanaba,  Julie and Steve Kulpa of Two Rivers, one Brother and Sister in Law, Ray and Denise Sleck and Maggie from Las Vegas; grandchildren: Michael and (Shannon) Mason, Lorraine Mason, Ben Reeson, John and Tanya Reeson, Jason Krause, Tonya Krause, Michelle and Chad Medukas, Angela Krause, Melissa Krause,  Joshua and Ashley Krause, Jeremiah and Kari Krause, Rachael and Kristy Krause, Elizabeth and Mike Terens, Becky and Scott, Stephanie and Jacob Kunesh, Samantha Kulpa, Stacey Kulpa; and many Great Grand Children, many Nieces and Nephews, as well as a special Son from another mother Lenny Wallner.  Mary was preceded in death by her Son Clifford Springer of Two Rivers, her Sister Margaret Ducat of Sheboygan and her brother Alvin Sleck of Sheboygan.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday May 4, 2023 at the Klein and Stangel Funeral Home in Two Rivers, from 1:00 p.m until time of services at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at the Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home, Phillips, WI from 11:00 a.m. until Noon. Burial will be taken place at Two Lakes Cemetery in Phillips, WI immediately following the visitation.
