Mildred "Milly" Keller Obituary

Mildred "Milly" Keller of Las Vegas, NV passed away at her home on April 27, 2022, as was her hope. Milly was born in Manitowoc, WI to Rudolph & Louise M (Chrystel) Kletzien. Milly graduated from Manitowoc High School completing College Prep Classes with a focus on Business. She went on to Prospect Hall Secretarial School in Milwaukee, WI.  Milly worked in many different positions, but all were related to the business and secretarial courses she so enjoyed. Milly was an avid learner, even completing several computer courses from 1989 to 1992.

Milly moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1955 to work as a Civil Servant in the Department of Water and Power. It was in LA that she met and later married her partner in life on Jan 7, 1956, Edward "Ed" Eustace Keller who preceded Milly in death on Jan 7, 2017; the Anniversary of their 61st year of marriage.

Milly and Ed loved to explore life together, often dancing, skiing, and traveling to visit new places and family members around the US. In 1970, Milly & Ed together opened the 1st Western Auto Store in South Lake Tahoe, CA. Milly was in charge of all office, bookkeeping and payroll duties as well as helping with merchandising and sales in the store as needed. She went on to work for Montgomery Wards in the Automotive Dept.  In 1982, Milly tried retirement on for size, but continued to be very active in her volunteer services providing bookkeeping and administrative help for several charitable organizations in their community.

In 1989, both Milly and Ed decided they were not quite ready to retire so they moved to Placerville, CA and got back into the workforce with Milly assisting Ed in Real Estate and taking on an administrative position with Edward Jones & Company until they finally did retire in 1992.

They later moved to Las Vegas, NV to settle near Milly's older brother and several members of his family. Milly established herself with several organizations and nonprofits continuing to put her computer and administrative skills to good use,

Milly was the kindest and most genuine type of person. She never had a negative thing to say about anyone and truly lived a devoted Catholic life. She was always doing all she could for all she knew and loved to be helpful to everyone who knew her. Her beautiful spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and it will be her legacy to those around her to try to live life in kind.

In addition to her parents and husband, Milly was preceded in death by her 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Milly is survived by several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews including a special connection to her great grandnephew & niece, Benjamin & Abigail Lewandowski. Milly also leaves behind many close friends from her church community and wonderful supporting neighbors & special friends Anne Marie & Jerry Carroll.

A special thanks is extended to Jill, Pete, Ben, and Abi Lewandowski, of Antigo, WI - Anne Marie & Jerry Carroll, of Las Vegas, NV -   Don Kletzien, JR & Andree' Nelsen and her daughter, Vicky, of Las Vegas, NV - Donna Wheeler & David Kletzien of Marysville, CA   & to Milly's Las Vegas church group - Mary Lou, Helen, Barbara, & Dottie for all of their help and support over these past several years.
