Nathan A. Rich passed away from a sudden medical condition at home in Mishicot.
In 1975, Nathan was born on New Year’s Eve, and maybe that’s why he loved having parties so much. After graduating from Denmark High School in 1994, he attended UW-Manitowoc Center before attending the University of Minnesota – Minneapolis to major in art. Nathan worked at Professional Fabrications for the last 17 years.
For a 46-year-old, Nathan was still just a boy—so full of life, curiosity, adventure, and play. Every Halloween and Christmas, Nathan was full of pure joy. Besides his love of playing with his niece and nephews, the Renaissance Faire, all dogs and cats, exploring the woods, driving his VWs like his dad, metal detecting, and playing video games, Nathan had an enthusiasm for so many other things. Nathan loved being weird too, and we loved him for it—from the goofy gifs and texts he sent, sculpting creative art, to training chipmunks. What wasn’t weird but very special about Nathan was his generosity to his friends and family. He truly would give the shirt off his back. We are blessed to have had such a vibrant husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend in our lives.
Nathan is survived by his wife, Billie Pope. Nathan is also survived by his mother, Joy (Kornely) Rich; his sister Heather and brother-in-law Bill Fencl and their children, Gage, Kaine (Lindsay), and Jake; sister Amber and brother-in-law Mike Fencl and their children, Violet and Porter; sister Autumn and brother-in-law Greg Farrell; sister-in-law Bobbie (Steph) Abel and their child, Abby; aunt Mary Rich; uncle Rick and aunt Sue Kornely; cousins John (Donna) Rich, Andrew Rich, Erin Kornely, and Allison (Ryan) Widder; 2 Godsons; and many other family and friends. Nathan was preceded in death by his father Joe Rich; uncle Len Rich, and mother-in-law Trudy Elfering.
