Paul Clement Gintner, age 95, of Valders, passed away on Thursday, March 2nd, 2023 at the Aurora Medical Center in Manitowoc.
Paul was born on December 31st, 1927 in the home where he was raised. He was the son of the late Louis and Clara (Wallander) Gintner. Paul attended St. Mary Catholic Grade School of Clarks Mills. On September 22nd, 1954 he married the love of his life Rose Ann Tienor at St. Mary Catholic Church in Clarks Mills. Paul and Rose Ann celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary this past year.
Paul was a member of the men’s Holy Name Society of St. Mary Catholic Church in Clarks Mills and was a very active member of the parish. He served as the school board President in Clarks Mills for many years. He also was an active member of the Operating Engineers Local 139 as he spent his entire work career operating heavy equipment at Radant and Spancrete as a crane operator. Paul is a veteran of World War II and was an active member of the local American Legion. For many years Paul enjoyed gardening and sharing fresh vegetables with family, friends, and local parishes. He also had the love of playing cribbage and sheepshead when given the opportunity.
Survivors include his wife: Rose Ann Gintner, his children: Peter and Deanne Gintner, Thorp, Paul and Shelley Gintner, Lakeville, MN, and Perry and Marla Gintner, Waukesha. Four grandchildren: Drew, Caleb, Reese, and Londyn and four step-grandchildren: Missy, Nick, Greg, and Rachel. One great-grandson: Tripp Owen Gintner and five step great-grandchildren: Avery, Jack, Harvey, and Briggs, and Emma. Sisters and brothers-in-law: Janet and Al Braun, Whitelaw, Mary and Neil Hillstrom, Fremont. Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Dorothy Gintner, Manitowoc, Shirley Gintner, Hartford, Donna Gintner, Manitowoc, Katie Cook, Kewaskum, Arlene (Tina) and Bob Werdeo, Valders, Theresa and Gerald Rabe, Howards Grove, Judy and Marvin Kandler, Hilbert, Julia Peppard, Manitowoc, and Sharon Halbach, Reedsville. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Clara Gintner, three sisters and three brothers-in-law: Angeline and Izzy Mahloch, Florence and Emil Tienor, and Gail and Norbert Braun. Seven brothers and three sisters-in law: Earl (Dorothy), Kenny, Leo (Delores), Richard, Jack, Louis, and Joe (Rosemary) and one granddaughter, Kiley Rose Gintner. Also preceded in death by the following brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Eugene and Georgeen Tienor, Wenzel and Mabel Tienor, Lloyd Cook, Ken Halbach, and Charles Peppard.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 18th, 2023. Funeral Services will immediately follow visitation at 11:00 a.m. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Richard Klingeisen and burial will immediately follow the services at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Clarks Mills.
