Paul T. Risch

Paul T. Risch, age 71, of Manitowoc, passed away Sunday morning, January 2, 2022 at Appleton ThedaCare with his family by his side.

Paul was born on July 29, 1950 in Manitowoc, son of the late Paul Henry and Ethel Rose (Bleser) Risch. He graduated with the class of 1968 from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc.

On May 31, 1975 Paul married the former Diane Mary Johnson of Manitowoc. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, former secretary of the Manitowoc Elks Club and later became a member of the Eagles Club.

When he was younger, he helped work on the family farm and over the years Paul worked at Imperial Eastman as Plant Engineer, started OnSite Reclaiming in the 1980s, and most recently worked at Holy Family Hospital in Maintenance. Paul was mechanically inclined and home design was one of his favorite pastimes. Paul also spent many years as an avid hunter with his father-in-law, Vernon Lawerentz, at their cabin in Pembine and later in Crivitz. He always enjoyed when family got together, would tell stories, and was never short of a joke to share with the people around.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years: Diane Risch, Shawano; two daughters and son: Nicole (Patrick) Sullivan, Oshkosh; Jeff (Nicole) Risch, Manitowoc; and Cassie (Tim Satterthwaite) Risch, Madison; nine grandchildren: Sophie and Tristan Sullivan; Ethan, Ellisen, Eden, Emerson and Evyon Risch; Waylon and Emma Satterthwaite; one brother and one sister-in-law: Donald (Kathie) Risch, Manitowoc, and one sister: Barbara Warden, Manitowoc; Mother and Father in-law: Vernon and Lillian Lawerentz; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Paul and Ethel Risch.

Visitation services will be held at 9:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the Church on Saturday prior to mass which begins at 11:00 AM. The Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory of Manitowoc is assisting the Risch family with funeral arrangements.
