Paul R. Schmidt

Paul R. Schmidt, age 89, of Manitowoc, passed away Friday, November 29, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Paul was born on June 2, 1935 in Valders, son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Robinson) Schmidt. On March 3, 1956, Paul married Beverly A. Eiles at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Maple Grove. He worked as a supervisor at Mirro. Paul enjoyed deer hunting and spending time at his cottage in Silver Cliff.

Paul was a member of St. Francis of Assisi parish, Eagles Club, Seagulls Club and Manitowoc County Fish and Game.

Survivors include his wife: Beverly Eiles, Manitowoc; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Patricia Murray and her special friend: John Schumacher, Manitowoc; Michael Staudt, Two Rivers; Diane (Gary) Groelle, Manitowoc; Barbara Schmidt, Two Rivers; six grandchildren: Rosanne (Jason) Bonlander, Travis (Amanda) Groelle, Shelby (Dustin) Hujet, Jenny Smith, Ashley Groelle and her special friend: Donavan Strouf, Holley Melichar; six great grandchildren: Kaylea, Emma, McKenna, Levi, Finley, Kashton; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Elizabeth Schmidt and one daughter: Linda Staudt.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo-1121 N. 14th Street Manitowoc. The Rev. Doug LeCaptain will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with entombment to follow in the Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at the Church on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of Mass at 12:30 PM.
