Paul V. Shimek

Paul V. Shimek, age 79, a Whitelaw area resident, passed away Saturday afternoon, December 18, 2021 at Westhaven Assisted Living in Brillion.

Paul was born on May 11, 1942 in the township of Gibson, son of the late Victor J. and Evelyn R. (Reznichek) Shimek. He graduated from Mishicot High School in 1960. Paul served in the United States Army from 1962 until his Honorable Discharge in 1963 and then served six years in the United States Army Reserves. He worked for Tecumseh in New Holstein and farmed the family farm in the town of Kossuth until his retirement. Paul enjoyed antique auctions and loved his cows. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville and the American Simmental Association and a former member of the Rocky Creek Snowmobile Club and the Bolle Baseball Team.

Survivors include his four brothers and two sisters-in-law: siblings: Jerry (Mary) Shimek, rural Manitowoc, Virgil Shimek, Athelstane, William Shimek, Manitowoc, Ronald Shimek, Whitelaw, Janet Shimek, Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Victor and Evelyn Shimek; one brother: Floyd Shimek; one grand-nephew: Christopher Vogel.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 1124 Main Street, Kellnersville. The Rev. Jeremy Vance will officiate with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Kellnersville. Military honors will be accorded by the Kubale-O’Connell VFW Post #6179 of Kellnersville.
