Randy Peterson, age 69, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Tuesday June 9th, 2026 at Complete Care Rehab Center, after nearly a five-year battle with cancer.
Randy was born on October 8th, 1956, in Manitowoc, WI, son of the late Russell and Francis (Gliniecki) Peterson. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1975. Randy was employed at Weyerhauser and then International Paper for nearly 43 years until his retirement in 2018. Randy was very generous, kindhearted and had a great sense of humor. He was always joking around with those who knew him. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and managing his hunting land he owned for over 35 years. His tagline comment “Did you catch any deer?” will resonate with all who hunted with him. He was an avid sports fanatic supporting the Wisconsin Sports teams or watching his nephews and great nephews play their respective sports. He also had a love for gambling, especially playing Texas Hold’em at the Wisconsin & Michigan Casinos and numerous trips to The Four Queens in Las Vegas.
Survivors include his two brothers: Dale Peterson, Raymond Peterson, both of Manitowoc, one sister Barbara (Jerry) Shedal, Newton; eight nieces and nephews: Travis (Sarah) Peterson, Stacy (Tracy) Peterson, Nicole (Tommy) Spindler, Jason (Renee) Peterson, Nathan (Jennifer) Peterson, Brandon (Ashley) Shedal, Cassandra (Stacy) Shedal , Katrina (Randy) Popp; 18 great nieces and nephews; with four of them be very close to Randy due to their shared passion of hunting: Aiden Peterson, Weston Peterson, Brock Peterson and Cohen Shedal. He will further be missed by his close gambling buddies Garrett Johnstone, Tommy Knox, Sandy Muench, Denny Defferding and Bill “BJ” VandenLangBerg, and Green Bay Dave.
The family will greet relatives and friends for visitation on Tuesday, June 16th, 2026 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a service to follow at 11:00.
