Richard John Miller

Richard John Miller, 80, a resident at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility passed away at Rocky Knoll on Sunday, March 4, 2018.Richard was born August 10, 1937, the fourth son of William and Dora (Rosebrock) Miller in the Town of Mitchell. He attended the Spring Farm School in the town of Mitchell.  Richard was a hard worker alongside his father and four brothers on the Miller family farm located southwest of Plymouth.  After the family farm was sold his brothers, Edward and Carl arranged for Richard to work on the Ralph and Vallie DeSmith farm located near Sheboygan Falls. Richard was faithful to his calling and worked very diligently to do whatever was needed, working the fields, tending the animals, milking cows, planting and overseeing the family vegetable garden.  Richard was always willing to help someone in need.  If help was needed around your home, inside or out he would find the time to accomplish the goal.  His delight was serving others and he could never say "NO".   After several years at the DeSmith farm he became employed in the custodial department of Sheboygan Falls Schools where he developed many friendships.  He later was employed with Acuity Insurance in their custodial department.  Richard moved to Rocky Knoll in 2007.Richard is survived by his brothers, Carl W. Miller of Indianapolis, IN, Earl O. Miller of Columbus, OH, Edward E. Miller of Brownsville, TN and Marlin L. (Joy) Miller of Sheboygan and two sisters, Ruth Ciske of Cedar Grove and Martha (Thomas) Mueller of Sheboygan Falls.  He is further survived by several nieces and nephews along with other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters-in-law, Joan Miller and Angie Miller; a brother-in-law, Larry Ciske; nieces, nephews and other family members.It was Richard's wish to donate his body to the Medical College of Wisconsin.  A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorials in Richard's name may be directed to Rocky Knoll Health Care FacilityRichard's family would like to extend their sincere and grateful appreciation to the staff at Rocky Knoll who cared for and watched over him while he resided there.Online condolences may be expressed at www.wittkoppfcs.comWittkopp Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the Miller family.
