Richard "Dick" Oelke Obituary

Richard “Dick” Francis Oelke, 87, of Manitowoc passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at his home.

Dick was born on September 23, 1938 in Wauzeka, WI to the late Cecil and Leona (Proulx) Oelke. He was a 1956 graduate of Lincoln High School. Dick served his country in the United States Navy on board the USS Ernest G. Small DDR 838. On November 11, 1961, he married Delores Klemens at St. Boniface Church. Dick was a machinist for Manitowoc Engineering and spent 17 years at Renard’s in Green Bay. Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing on his boat, the Dizzy Dee, and flying his remote-controlled model airplanes. He cherished every moment spent with his family. A devoted fan of the Packers and Brewers, he also loved playing sheepshead, gin, and cribbage with those he loved. Dick was a wonderful storyteller, and his many conversations will be deeply missed.

Dick is survived by his wife: Delores Oelke; children: Christine Oelke, Randy Oelke (Becky), Dawn Budnik, and Carrie Jo Martinco; grandchildren: Danielle Budnik (Chris), Jordan Budnik, Carly Martinco, Nicholas Martinco (Sam), Alyssa Oelke (Jacob), and Jayden Oelke; great-grandchild: Nash Martinco; and brother: Darwin (Mary) Oelke. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dick was preceded in death by his parents: Cecil and Leona Oelke; and brother: Norman Oelke.

Cremation will take place, and per Dick’s wishes, no services will be held.
