Robert D. Pankratz

Robert D. Pankratz, age 91 of Elm Grove, formerly of Manitowoc passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at Sunrise Terrace Assisted living in Elm Grove.

Robert was born on November 16, 1930 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada son of the late Bernard and Hilda (Einberger) Pankratz. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1951 through 1953 and continued in the reserves until 1959. On September 12, 1968 he married the former Sandra Fricke in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on August 29, 2013. Robert was employed at Manitowoc Crane for 43 years until his retirement in 1995.

He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law: Terese (Brian) Riesner, New Berlin; one son and daughter-in-law: Michael (Donna) Pankratz, Franklin; step-daughter: Heidi Bartelme, Bloomington, MN; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law: Ginny Pankratz, TX, Barbara Pankratz, Manitowoc, Larry (Ruth) Fricke, Manitowoc, Dennis (Donna) Fricke, NM, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Bernard and Hilda Pankratz; his wife: Sandra Pankratz; step-son: Keith Teuke; three brothers and one sister-in-law: Bill (Marion) Pankratz, Skip Pankratz, Dan Pankratz; one sister: Marge (Frank) Bushman; also, other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law preceded him in death.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 5, 2022 at the Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 1122 South 8th Street, Manitowoc. Deacon Alan Boeldt will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
