Robert James Metze, 90, a man of great faith, was called to his eternal Heavenly home on January 25, 2025.
Robert (Bob) was born on May 4, 1934, in Plymouth, WI, to the late Victor and Bertha (Pfeiffer) Metze. He attended Plymouth Schools and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1952.
After graduation, Bob volunteered for the draft and served his country from 1954-1956 in the U.S. Army. He was stationed at Maison Fort, Orleans, France.
Bob married his high school sweetheart, Eileen Ruth Schellenberg, on August 31, 1957. The couple resided in Plymouth their entire lives. Together they raised three children. Bob and Eileen were blessed with 64 years of marriage. Eileen preceded him into Heaven on Jan 4, 2022.
Bob graduated from Lakeland College with a BA in Business Administration in 1960. He was employed by Sheboygan County for 35 years, retiring in 1996 as Accounting Manager for the three county healthcare facilities.
Bob was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth. He belonged to the Plymouth Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs. He was a Green Bay Packer season ticket holder. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. He also enjoyed various card clubs and going on vacations with family and friends.
Bob is survived by his three children: Lisa (Scott) Koehler of Waukesha, Connie (Patrick) Mertens of Elkhart Lake, and Jim Metze of Plymouth (fiancé, Robin Scheuer, Mishicot); 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; his sister, Shirley Schmidt; numerous nieces & nephews and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Eileen, Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Kallenberg; brothers-in-law, Kenny Kallenberg and Merlin Schmidt, and many other relatives and friends.
A private family service for Bob will be held with burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
