Robert “Bob” Joseph Wisse, 70, of Sheboygan Falls passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton.
Bob was born on January 31, 1953 in Sheboygan Falls to Peter J. and Dorothy (Naumann) Wisse, growing up on the family farm. He was a 1971 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School and furthered his education at Lakeshore Technical College. On September 22, 1973 he married his high school sweetheart, the former Nancy Kohlhagen. On Friday, they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Bob started his working career alongside his dad at Sheboygan Falls Co-op, then spending over 35 years at Heidenreiter Bus Services. Bob proudly served the community of Sheboygan Falls for over 20 years as a Fire Fighter on the City of Sheboygan Falls Fire Department. He was also on the planning commission for the Town of Lima.
Over the years, Bob was active with the S.T.I.C.S Snow-mobile club, riding his 4-wheeler, UTV, and his Harley. Bob looked forward to spending time with his high school buddies, his weekly coffee groups, and playing Sheepshead on Wednesday nights. His outgoing personality and contagious smile created many new friendships through the years. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it, and thought of his friends as family.
Bob enjoyed watching and attending Brewer games and Packer games, sprint car and go-kart races, and had the opportunity to be on a sprint car pit crew and was a push truck driver. Bob had the privilege of driving bus for his grandchildren and many kids of the community. He looked forward to taking his grandchildren to their activities, whether it was tennis, soccer, baseball, basketball, dance, or theater, he loved watching them do what they loved doing. Bob’s happy place was in the woods, regardless of what activity he was doing; whether it was cutting down trees, hauling wood, or building his deer camp, that is what made him happy, especially when he had the help of his son and grandchildren. Bob enjoyed fishing, particularly on the Big Bobber on Lake Michigan, with Skip and Linda. Bob was also proud to be able to help his son establish his own fishing business, Happy Hooker Sport Fishing Charters.
Bob was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He gave of himself on a daily basis to his family and friends, especially making sure his loving wife, Nancy, was taken care of.
Bob is survived by his loving wife: Nancy; children: Malisa (Patrick) Reschke, Amanda (Jake) Albrecht, and Matthew (Lisa) Wisse; grandchildren: Tyson, Ethan, Lukas, Bella, and Laney; sister: Sue Ann Wisse; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Deborah (Mike) Daly, and Scott (Abby) Kohlhagen; and step-mother-in-law: Penny Kohlhagen. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents: Peter J. and Dorothy Wisse; an infant sister: Katherine; and his father and mother-in-law: Eugene “Pudgy” and Gayle Kohlhagen.
