Ronald Dillahunt Obituary

Ronald Edwin Dillahunt, age 56, of Plymouth, WI, passed away at his home on Monday, May 26, 2025, in the presence of his loving family. His passing came shortly after a cancer diagnosis in March 2025.

Ronald was born on October 14, 1968, in Springfield, OH, a beloved son of Ronald Milton and Susan Kay (Ault) Dillahunt. His childhood was spent in Antigo, WI, where he graduated from Antigo High School. Continuing his education, Ron earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. It was in McFarland, WI, on August 7, 1993, that he married his loving wife, Kristin Ruth Daugherty. Together, they built a loving family and were delighted to raise their three beautiful daughters. In 2020, Ron and Kristin made their home in Plymouth, WI. Ron dedicated 31 years to the Wisconsin DNR as an air management engineer, retiring in 2024.

Ron had a deep appreciation for the natural world and found joy in feeding and watching birds, fishing, kayaking, and hiking. He also enjoyed more leisurely pursuits such as jigsaw puzzles and the companionship of his dog, Ollie, on their walks. Spending time with his daughters was a cherished part of his life, as was his passion for cooking. Ron’s intellectual curiosity extended to science fiction, music, and history. His early retirement provided him with the wonderful opportunity to travel out west with Kristin, fulfilling many of his lifelong dreams.

Survivors include his wife: Kristin Ruth Dillahunt, Plymouth, WI; his three daughters: Alina Kay Dillahunt and her fiancée Shany Yang, Ann Arbor, MI; Anya Marie (David) Krohn, Larkspur, CO; Talya Mae (Skyler) Grossmueller, Grafton, WI; his father: Ronald (Laurie) Dillahunt, Antigo; his mother: Susan (Fred) Dillahunt Fillmore, Minnetonka, MN; three sisters: Cathy (Larry) Haskin, Maple Grove, MN; Christina (Rocco) Catalano, Greenwich, CT; Cherie Kurtz, Superior, WI; father-in-law: Gerard Ramsden, Waunakee, WI; one sister-in-law: Jennet Maag, Madison, WI; one step brother-in-law: Eddie (Lynne) Mason, Lodi, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive.
