Ronald Verlare Obituary

Ronald Verlare, age 79 of Francis Creek, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, April 22, 2023 at Aurora Medical Center of Manitowoc County in Two Rivers.

Ron was born January 6, 1944 in Sheboygan, son of the late David and Lucille (Bunke) Verlare. He grew up in Sheboygan and served in the United States Army. Ronald was a Sergeant First Class and a Viet Nam Veteran and also served in Gulf War from 1990-1991. He later served in the Army National Guard 84th Division of Sheboygan for many years.

Ron graduated from UW River Falls with his Bachelor’s Degree and attended Marquette University. He received his Master’s Degree in Sociology from UW Madison along with a Minor in History. He was passionate and knowledgeable with regard to both history and politics. Ron worked for over 30 years for Brown County as a Social Worker/Social Services Administration, touching many lives along the way. He retained his license credentials throughout his life.

Ron was married to the former Ann Marie Boehm on November 21st 2003. He and his wife Ann Marie were co-owners of Verlare Alpacas Farm in Maribel. Ron was a proud member of the Republican Party. He loved his home in Francis Creek and the farm in Maribel and was a caretaker extraordinaire of all their properties. He enjoyed owning and driving sports cars. He loved his community, and trips to Sheboygan, his birth city. He was an avid Brewers fan, Bucks fan and Green Bay Packers fan. He will be greatly missed by Ann Marie, Charlie his dog and many friends and acquaintances. He thoroughly enjoyed music and attending concerts with his wife Ann Marie and friends.

Survivors include his wife Ann Marie Verlare, Francis Creek; one sister and brother-in-law: Ruthie and Jim Ashe, Denver, CO; Sister-in-law Mary Verlare, Barrington IL, nieces, nephews’ other family members, friends and his beloved dog Charlie. He was preceded in death by his parents: David and Lucille Verlare; two brothers: Richard and Roger Verlare; one sister: Rhoda Martin; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Robert J. Boehm (Colonel US Air Force) and Alice S. Boehm (US Navy-Wave).

Ann Marie would like Ron to be remembered as a compassionate, caring husband and a humanitarian.
