Rose Gintner Obituary

Rose Ann Gintner, age 87, of Valders, passed away on Monday, March 20th, 2023 at St. Mary’s Nursing Home in Manitowoc.

Rose Ann was born on July 25th, 1935 in Manitowoc County and was the daughter of the late Peter and Isabell (Moore) Tienor.  Rose Ann graduated from St. Mary Catholic Grade School of Clarks Mills and Valders High School.  On September 22nd, 1954 she married the love of her life, Paul Gintner, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Clarks Mills.  Paul and Rose Ann celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary this past year.

Rose Ann was a member of the Marian Council of St. Mary Catholic Church in Clarks Mills and also of the American Legion Auxiliary in Valders.   She worked many years at the Mirro Company and Valders Cooperative as an Administrative Assistant in the offices.  She also had the love of bowling, playing cribbage, sheepshead, and going gambling.  Rose Ann also enjoyed watching Wisconsin sports teams including the Badgers, Brewers, and Packers.

Survivors include her children:  Peter and Deanne Gintner, Thorp, Paul and Shelley Gintner, Lakeville, MN, and Perry and Marla Gintner, Waukesha.   Four grandchildren:  Drew, Caleb, Reese, and Londyn and four step-grandchildren:  Missy, Nick, Greg, and Rachel.  One great-grandson:  Tripp Owen Gintner and five step great-grandchildren:  Avery, Jack, Harvey, Briggs, and Emma.  Sisters and brothers-in-law:  Katie Cook, Kewaskum, Julia Peppard, Manitowoc, Sharon Halbach, Reedsville, Judy and Marvin Kandler, Hilbert, Theresa and Gerald (Fuzzy) Rabe, Howards Grove, and Arlene (Tina) and Bob Werdeo, Valders.  Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law:  Janet and Al Braun, Whitelaw, and Mary and Neil Hillstrom, Fremont.  Sisters-in-law:  Dorothy Gintner, Manitowoc, Shirley Gintner, Hartford, and Donna Gintner, Manitowoc.   She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.

Rose Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband Paul Gintner and granddaughter, Kiley Rose Gintner, her parents, Peter and Isabell Tienor, brothers and sisters-in-law:  Wenzel and Mabel Tienor, Eugene and Georgeen Tienor, brothers-in-law Lloyd Cook, Ken Halbach, and Charles Peppard.  Also preceded in death by the following sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Angeline and Izzy Mahloch, Florence and Emil Tienor, Gail and Norbert Braun, Earl and Dorothy Gintner, Leo and Delores Gintner, Joe and Rosemary Gintner, Kenny Gintner, Richard Gintner, Jack Gintner, and Louis Gintner.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 29th, 2023.  Funeral Services will immediately follow visitation at 11:00 a.m.  Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Deacon Randy Jaeckels and burial will immediately follow the services at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Clarks Mills.

In lieu of flowers, any monetary gifts will be donated to the St. Mary’s/St. Michael’s Catholic Churches and Schools in memory of our mother and grandmother.

The family is forever grateful to Sandy Jandrey of Collins, a former co-worker and life-long friend of Rose Ann. We are thankful for her love and support of Rose Ann over the many years, which will be treasured forever by the family.

The family also wishes to extend a special thank you to Holly Evenson of Valders for the care and compassion extended to Rose Ann for the few days she positively impacted her life.

The family would like to extend our appreciation to the doctors, nurses, hospice staff, and other caregivers during Rose Ann’s stay at the Aurora Medical Center and St. Mary’s Nursing Home in Manitowoc.

Rose Ann will be greatly missed by her family, her friends, and by everyone that had the opportunity to meet her.
