Roy Ozanne passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from complications of pneumonia.
Roy was born on April 24, 1948, in Denver, Colorado, to Robert and Frances Ozanne. In 1950, the family moved to Madison, Wisconsin, where Roy spent his childhood and later attended both college and medical school.
Throughout his life and medical career, Roy was committed to helping his patients achieve better health. As his practice evolved, he increasingly incorporated nutrition, homeopathy, and functional medicine into his approach to care, reflecting his interest in addressing the underlying causes of illness and supporting overall wellness.
Roy was also devoted to his family. In 2001, he moved to his parents' home on Lake Michigan, where he cared lovingly for his father until his death in 2006 and for his mother until her death in 2020. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his brother Lee. He is survived by his brothers Larry and Bradford, and 8 nephews and nieces including Ismael Ozanne with whom he shares the Lake Michigan property.
After his mother’s passing, his parents’ cottage remained his home and it held a special place in his heart. There he fostered a community of learning, healing, and spirituality. During those years, Roy also found renewed meaning and comfort in his Christian faith, and became a member of the Church of Hope in Two Rivers. His faith was an important part of his later life and brought him strength and companionship.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 1st at 9am Central at Hope Community Church, 4408 County Highway B, Manitowoc, WI. There will be a 12pm potluck gathering following the service. Details regarding the potluck will be available at the service or can be requested any time by email: rachel37bongle@gmail.com.
