Ruth M. (Zorn) Gannon

Ruth Marie Gannon, 99, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the Congregational Home in Brookfield.

Ruth was born November 4, 1922, in Elkhart Lake a daughter to Nicholas and Alice (Bastian) Zorn. She was united in marriage to Eugene Gannon and after 58 years of marriage he preceded her in death. Ruth graduated from Milwaukee State Teacher College with a degree in Kindergarten Primary Education.

She was a member of the Chi Sigma Lambda Sorority. She continued her education and earned her Certified Reading Teacher accreditation and taught in the Milwaukee School System. Because she truly enjoyed being with and helping children, she volunteered as a second grade reading instructor at St. Margaret Mary Parish for fifteen years after retirement.

Ruth is survived by her sons Thomas (Mary) Gannon and Richard (Stephanie) Gannon, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is further survived by nephews, nieces and good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Nicholas and Alice Zorn and brother James Zorn.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11:00 am.  Friday May 6th at Lumen Christi Catholic Church, 2750 W Mequon Rd, Mequon, WI. with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at 11 am.  Inurnment will take place in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery North in Elkhart Lake.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Interfaith Volunteer Services or Lumen Christi are appreciated.
