Ruth E. (Gray) Jaeger

Ruth E. Jaeger, 92, formerly of the Town of Mitchell, Sheboygan County and a current resident of Franklin Place Care of Franklin, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024 in Franklin.

Ruth was born in Waukesha on February 9, 1932, daughter of the late Fred and Mildred (Look) Gray. She grew up in West Allis and was a graduate of West Allis Central High School. She later attended Carroll College and was a graduate of the University of WI-Milwaukee with her bachelor’s degree in education. Ruth taught school in St. Martini Lutheran School in Milwaukee. On June19, 1954 she was united in marriage to Louis R. Jaeger at the First Baptist Church in Waukesha. He preceded her in death on February 4, 2018. In 1994 the couple moved into the Town of Mitchell and from 1998-2014 they operated Harmony Hills Bed & Breakfast.

Ruth was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Cascade and was active in the Church’s Ladies Guild where she served as secretary and treasurer, Church Choir and was a Sunday School teacher. In the past she served as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, volunteered at Rocky Knoll and sang in both the Sweet Adelines and Harmony Inc. for over 45 years. Ruth also was active in the Plymouth Arts Foundation.

Survivors include her four children: Jodee (John) Plazek, Greenfield, Eric (Beth Hahn) Jaeger, Muskego, Gary (Andrea) Jaeger, Plymouth, Dean (Bonnie) Jaeger, Plymouth; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters: Dorothy Shaw, TX, and Dianne McCaughey, Madison, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Fred and Mildred Gray; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Jane Gray, Julianne (Josef) Sibley; one brother: David Gray.

A Memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, December 30, 2024 at the Wittkopp Funeral Home, 123 South Street, Plymouth. The Rev. Richard Bindinger will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm.
