Ruth Zimmermann

Ruth Zimmermann, age 91, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Monday morning, July 12th, 2021 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center after a decades-long battle with M.S.

Ruth was born October 16th, 1929 in the town of Little River, Oconto County, WI, daughter of the late Oscar and Erma (DesJarlais) Wolfgram. She was a graduate of Lena High School with the class of 1947. On October 6, 1951 she married Robert Zimmermann in Manitowoc, WI.

Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother who took great pride in her family, friends, and being a great housewife. She did all of this not out of obligation, but because of who she was - a loving, helpful, caring, and incomparably strong woman. Ruth was always there to offer help and always made sure that every child or grandchild in her home was happy, cared for, and well fed! Like her husband Bob, she was a passionate, life-long Green Bay Packers fan. She enjoyed frequent summer camping trips to Chute Pond with family and friends and traveled extensively with her family, visiting nearly all 50 states.

Survivors include her sister: Rita Prausa, Oconto; four grandsons: Russel Zimmermann, Suamico, Benjamin Miller, Madison, Christopher Miller, Manitowoc, Nicholas Miller, Manitowoc; one great granddaughter: Calli Zimmermann; three sister-in-laws: Judy Wolfgram, Menasha; Betty Zimmermann, Sheboygan; Nancy Zimmermann, Kiel; one son-in-law: Craig Miller, Manitowoc; and her best buddy and feline friend: Tonka. Nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends and neighbors also survive. She was also preceded in death by one son: Steven Zimmermann; one daughter: Michelle Miller; one brother, Oscar Wolfgram, Jr.; one brother-in-law: Roland Prausa; three brothers-in-law: Carl Zimmermann, Danny (Florence) Zimmermann, Dale Zimmermann, three sisters and brothers-in-law: Margaret (Arnold) Pautz, Gladys (Tony) Hoerth, Rogene (Clarence) Faust; her mother and father, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Carl and Marie (Henning) Zimmermann.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Rachel Hacker with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
