Sister Annette Blonde, age 81, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, passed away on October 24, 2023, at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.
The former Anette Blonde and Sister Martin Blonde, also known as Sister Annette Blonde, was born on December 2, 1941, in Green Bay, WI, daughter of the late Clement Frank and Frances Regina (Reis) Blonde. She entered the convent in 1956 and professed her vows in 1961. Sister Annette earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Silver Lake College, Manitowoc.
Sister Annette ministered as a teacher in various schools throughout Wisconsin: St. Paul and St. Francis on Marshall, Manitowoc; Sacred Heart, Oshkosh; St. Mary, Hilbert; St. Francis, Hollandtown; St. Mary, Clarks Mills; St. Mary, Kaukauna; St. Mary, Algoma; Immaculate Conception, De Pere; Holy Rosary, New Holstein; and St. Philip, Green Bay. While at St. Mary, Clarks Mills, Sister Annette was also the principal. Since 2013 she had been a member of St. Rita Health Center, Manitowoc.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, sisters (brother-in-law): Sister Cecilia Blonde and Joni (Dennis) Glysch. She is further survived by nieces and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clem and Frances Blonde, and her brother and sister-in-law Martin (Molly) Blonde.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass will be the Rev. Placid Stroik, OFM, with burial to follow at the Holy Family Convent Cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at the Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm at the Holy Family Convent Chapel. Visitation will continue Friday morning from 8:00 am until 10:00 am.
