Sister Paschal Baylon Klarkowski

Sister Paschal Baylon Klarkowski, age 93, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.

The former Alice Mary Klarkowski, also known as Sister Paschal Baylon, was born on December 7, 1928, in Green Bay, WI, daughter of the late Peter and Viola (Kendziorski) Klarkowski. She entered the convent in 1944 and professed her vows in 1946. Sister Paschal Baylon earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Silver Lake College, Manitowoc.

Sister Paschal Baylon ministered as a teacher in several schools throughout Wisconsin: St. Anne, Francis Creek; St. Joseph, Waukesha; St. Paul, St. Boniface, Sacred Heart, and St. Andrew, all in Manitowoc; St. Rose, Clintonville; St. Agnes, Green Bay; St. Mary, Brillion; St. Aloysius, Kaukauna; St. Mary, Reedsville; St. Francis, Hollandtown; Ss. Peter and Paul, Kiel; and St. Joseph, Sturgeon Bay. Following her years in the classroom, Sister Paschal Baylon assisted with various tasks at Holy Family Convent. She had been a resident of St. Rita Health Center since 2019.

Surviors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Peter (Lorraine) Klarkowski, David (Bernetta) Klarkowski and (Alice) Klarkowski, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Peter and Viola (Kendziorski) Klarkowski, four brothers and sisters-in-law: John (Regina) Klarkowski, William (Jane) Clark, Robert Klarkowski, Sylvester (Evelyn) Klarkowski and her sister (brother-in-law): Adeline (Lawrence) Kaczrowski.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at the Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass will be the Rev. Gerald Prusakowski, O.F.M. with burial to follow at the Holy Family Convent Cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 4:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at the Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. A prayer service will be held at 7:00p.m. at the Holy Family Convent Chapel. The visitation will continue Wednesday morning from 8:00a.m. until 10:00a.m.
