Stephen "Steve" J. Schultz

Stephen (Steve) Schultz, 81, of Cedar Grove, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.

Steve was born on November 18, 1942 in Port Washington to George and Margaret (Bertram) Schultz. He was a graduate of Port Washington High School. On November 6, 1965 he married Alice Schwind. 

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, George and Margaret (Bertram) Schultz, his sisters, LaVern (James) Godersky, and Kathleen Nickel, his in-laws: Henry and Marian (Scanlan) Schwind, one brother-in-law: David Schwind.

He is survived by his wife Alice Schultz, his son Bill Schultz, daughter, Ann Miller, and grandchildren Isabel Picus, Olivia Miller, Rebecca Miller, Jackson Miller, and Stephen Miller. Other surviving family members include his sister-in-law’s Elizabeth Chapman, Rosie Lensmire, and Dorothy Roehl, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Steve started his career as a foreman at Bolens/FMC and later became a superintendent at Trak International. He had a successful career as a Snap On tool salesman with routes throughout the Southeast portion of Wisconsin. He was mostly known as “Snappy” the Snap On man, from which he retired in 2009.

First and foremost, Steve was a family man. He adored his wife and children and lived every moment to provide a beautiful life for them. Their lives were filled with adventures like driving his many Corvettes to Elkhart Lake for races and parking in the Corvette corral, trips to new places in the state, and fun filled family vacations. 

He was a devoted Catholic and prayed a rosary daily for his family and specifically for each of his grandchildren. He was faithful to attend weekly mass and enjoyed visiting churches throughout the state and getting to know priests from around the area. 

Anyone who knows Steve has a story of a fun party or gathering where he lit up the room and was the life of the party. He enjoyed getting to know people and never met a stranger. 

He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed any sport his children were playing at the moment. He showed up to every game and he mentored their friends, helping them through the difficult teen years of their lives as well. 

Steve loved to collect unique antiques, traveling throughout the United States and around the world, and just enjoying life! 

A memorials service to celebrate Steve’s life will be held on his 82nd birthday, Monday, November 18, 2024 at 6:00 pm at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, 230 Butler St. Random Lake, with Fr. Don Thimm officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday, November 18, 2024 at the church from 3:30 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm. A family graveside service will take place at a later date at St. Michael Cemetery in the Town of Mitchell.
