Tammy Eunice Picciolo, 65, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls, surrounded by love.
Tammy was born on July 6, 1960, at St. Michael Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Frank and Jeannie (Taylor) Picciolo. At birth, Tammy weighed just 5 pounds, 1 ounce, and measured 16 inches long, small enough for her father to hold her in just one hand. Tammy later graduated from John Marshall High School.
Tammy was known for her caring heart, strong spirit, sense of humor, and deep love for her family. She was funny, sassy, demanding in the most unforgettable way, and never afraid to speak her mind.
Tammy was an incredible waitress for many years, especially during her time at Terry’s Diner in Sheboygan, where customers and coworkers adored her personality, quick wit, and ability to make everyone feel welcome. She also had a passion for caring for others and spent many years helping elderly individuals and people with disabilities. Her compassion, patience, and generous heart touched many lives.
Tammy found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved music, adored her dogs, and was fiercely competitive when it came to cribbage — according to Tammy, nobody could beat her. She loved cookouts and holidays and always wanted to make sure the whole family was together. Roses always held a special meaning to Tammy, reflected in the tattoos she proudly wore. She also had a deep love for wolves. Even in her final moments, she never lost her love for Coca-Cola.
Her favorite movie was Gone with the Wind, and she also loved revisiting childhood memories by watching Puff the Magic Dragon. She wished for “Landslide” by Stevie Nicks and “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong to be played as she was laid to rest. Daniel proudly claimed the title of Tammy’s favorite child, a debate the family never quite settled. Brittany, however, knew the truth because her mom would always wink and smile at her.
Tammy faced many health battles throughout her life with incredible strength and determination. Nearly 18 years ago, she was diagnosed with lung and brain cancer, a diagnosis she fought courageously and overcame. Through the years, she continued facing additional health challenges with resilience, strength, and faith. Many people described her as a miracle because of her determination and will to keep fighting.
Tammy was a strong Italian and Sicilian woman whose stubbornness became one of her greatest strengths. She was a fighter, facing life’s challenges with determination, resilience, and heart. After years of fighting with incredible strength, Tammy made the decision to rest peacefully and be free from pain and suffering, surrounded by the love of her family. Her faith in God brought her comfort and peace, knowing she would be reunited with the loved ones who went before her.
Her daughter, Brittany Williams, stood faithfully by her side for 13 years, helping care for her through every challenge and remaining with her until the very end, with the love and support of her husband, Carlos Williams.
Tammy also shared a very close bond with her granddaughter, Demiah, who lovingly helped care for her through many difficult moments and brought her comfort and love throughout the years. She was also grateful for the love and care shown by her granddaughter, Carlisia, and grandson, Kaprese.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Brittany (Carlos) Williams, Bernardino Jr. Castillo (Monique), Daniel Castillo, Zachary Castillo, Tina Castillo, Gina Castillo, and Gabriel Picciolo; her beloved grandchildren: Demiah Picciolo, Carlisia Williams, Kaprese Williams, Aurelia Castillo, Bernardino III Castillo, Wilhelmina Castillo, Draygon Castillo, Zaria Castillo, Frankie Bell, Miles Picciolo, and Charlize Kuznacic; her stepmother and lifelong friend, Shiela Neuzerling; former spouse, Bernardino Sr. Castillo; nieces and nephews Sonya Gill-Grant, Nicole Gill, Jenny Wright, Russ Gitter, and Tara Federer; goddaughter, Liz Pena; the Williams family; as well as many extended family members and friends.
Tammy was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Picciolo and Jeannie (Taylor) Picciolo, and her siblings Kathleen “Kathy” Stadler, Jeanne “Gigi” Picciolo, Jodi Picciolo, Michael Picciolo, and Angelo Picciolo.
A celebration of Tammy’s life will be held at a later date.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Bettag, her longtime oncologist; the staff at Sheboygan Cancer & Blood Specialists; Tina Ziemer, her caregiver in her final days; and the staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the compassion, care, and support shown to Tammy and her family during this difficult time.
