Thomas G. Engleman, age 81, of Manitowoc passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Aurora Hospital in Oshkosh with family at his side.
Tom was born on May 5, 1944 in Manitowoc, son of the late George and Florence (Schlager) Engleman. He was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the Class of 1963 and went on to complete a Tool & Die Making Apprenticeship in 1977.
Tom retired from Manitowoc Ice Machines after years of dedicated service as a Tool & Die Maker. Previously, Tom worked at Mirro Company and Roorbach Greenhouse, where he acquired his green thumb.
In his younger years, Tom enjoyed spending time at his cottage on English Lake with family and friends. He also spent countless hours at home in his “work shop” as a talented woodworker..
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Elise & Rick Gilchrist; his grandchildren, Claire, Jack & Nora Gilchrist, all of Oshkosh; his brother and sister-in-law, Wayne & Cheryl Engleman of Two Rivers; and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his former wife of 51 years and friend, Mary Engleman.
He was preceded in death by his parents George & Florence Engleman; one sister and brother-in-law Barbara & Robert Kanitz; and one brother and sister-in-law James & Ruth Engleman, all of Manitowoc.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2026 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, January 12, 2026 at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services at 11:00 a.m.
