Thomas Hill Obituary

Thomas Marvin Hill, age 83, of Wayside, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday morning March 7th, 2024, at Aurora Bay care Medical Center in Green Bay. Tom was born on March 3, 1941, in the town of Franklin, son of the late Louis and Stella (Dugan) Hill. He grew up in Taus and was a 1959 graduate of Reedsville High School. Tom was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from June 11, 1959, to May 26, 1962. On April 24, 1961, Tom and Judith C. McConnell married and started their life’s journey together.

Tom was a steam fitter by trade for over 50 years, working for the Plumbers and Steam Fitters Local #298, now known as local #400. He served as Sanitary Commissioner for Morrison, Wisconsin and was instrumental in creating the sanitary district for the town. In addition to these roles, Tom will be remembered by many throughout his community—as a member of the WFLA Lodge #221 of Menchalville, as the patriot who alongside his wife started the initiative to fly flags from telephone poles throughout the community, as the neighbor who was unafraid to speak his mind while serving his civic duty at town hall meetings, or, many years ago, as the bartender at Weber’s Country Inn in Kellnersville. He enjoyed his hobby farm; attending horse pulling contests, steam engine shows, and Music in the Park; collecting antique toys; and cutting wood with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include: his wife, Judith Hill of Wayside; son, Rick William (Karen) Hill of Wabeno; son, Christopher Thomas Hill of Wayside (special friend, Brooke and her son Ethan); son-in-law Larry (Angie) Binish of Reedsville; ten grandchildren—Rick James (Kristina) Hill, Marissa (Jim) Scray, Maxxwell Hill, Alexxander Hill, Madeline Hill (special friend, Gary), Elliott Hill, Owen Hill, Lincoln Hill, Alicia Binish, Ethan Binish; four great grandchildren: Jacqueline Scray, Genevieve Scray, Diane Hill, Hudson Hill; God daughter, Kim Biely; one sister-in-law Donna Hill; furry friends: Bonsoir, Happy, Vanilla; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents: Louis and Stella Hill; his daughter, Candas Binish; three grandchildren: Chelsi Binish, Simon Hill, Lexi Binish; sister and brother-in-law Donna (Lyle) Biely; two brothers: John “Jack” Hill and infant brother, William Hill.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church, 8378 County Road W, Greenleaf, Wisconsin. The Rev. Kyle Wangelin will officiate.
