Vernon J. Trottier

Vernon J. Trottier age 93, of Manitowoc, passed away Sunday December 1, 2024 at Rivers Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Vernon was born on July 13, 1931 in Manitowoc, son of the late Armidos and Emma (Zimmerhakel) Trottier. He grew up in Manitowoc and was a 1950 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. Vernon served his country in the United States Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1953. On November 9, 1974 Vernon was married to the former June M. (Funk) Bernhardt in Two Rivers.

Vernon worked as a baker for 36 years for Dick Bros. Bakery and finished his 43 year career in baking at Jaeger Bakery in Milwaukee retiring at the age of 61 in 1992. He was a honorary life member of Viking Bow and Gun Club for over 50 years and a past member for over 35 years at Rockea Hunting Club. Vernon enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting and frying out for events at the Viking Club. He also enjoyed trips in the winter months to AZ and casino bus trips.

Survivors include his wife: June M. Trottier; two step-sons: Kim Bernhardt and Keith Bernhardt; two sisters-in-law: Marlene Hoffman and Shirley Funk; good friends: Don and Sue Jeske; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Armidos and Emma Trottier; one brother and sister-in-law and three sisters and brothers-in-law.

Cremation will take place at the All Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc and entombment of his cremated remains will take place at the Knollwood Mausoleum.
