Victor J. Novy

Victor J. Novy Jr., age 83, of 926 North 17th Street, Manitowoc, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at his residence.Vic was born on June 29, 1933 in Kellnersville, son of the late Victor and Laura (Shanda) Novy Sr. He was a 1951 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School and graduated from the ACME Tool & Die School of Manitowoc. Vic was a tool designer for the Eastman Company for 27 years and in 1980 bought and operated Novy's Carwash on the south side of Manitowoc retiring in 2011. On February 9, 1955 Vic was married to the former Phyllis A. Radey at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Maple Grove. Vic enjoyed boating, especially on the Mississippi River, motorcycle trips on his Honda Goldwing and deer hunting. He was a member of the Horseless Carriage Club of America, where he enjoyed owning antique cars for the past 30 years. Vic was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish of Manitowoc.Survivors include his wife: Phyllis Novy, Manitowoc; two sons and one daughter-in-law: Rick (Betty) Novy, Appleton; Scott Novy, Manitowoc; one daughter: Kim Novy, Manitowoc; four grandchildren: Michael (Amanda) Novy, Kaukauna; Elizabeth (Tyler) Woelfel, Madison; Marissa Novy, Long Beach, CA; Melinda Novy, Manitowoc; three great-grandchildren: Brianna and Collin Novy; Paige Woefel; one brother and two sisters-in-law: Le Roy (Joyce) Novy, Manitowoc; LaVerne Jorgenson, Kellnersville; one sister: Darlene Lyons, Appleton; two sisters-in-law: Janice Aliota, Mequon; Gilda Radey, CA, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Victor and Laura Novy Sr.; one brother: Donald Novy; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Henry and Angeline Radey; three brothers-in-law: Clifford Lyons; Peter Aliota; Eugene Radey.A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. Rev. Richard Klingeisen will celebrate the Mass of Christian burial. Entombment of his cremated remains will take place at the Knollwood Mausoleum at a later date.
