On May 10, 1952, Virginia married Donald R. Berg at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz. Virginia and Donald farmed on English Lake Road in the township of Liberty, Manitowoc County until Donald retired, and they moved to Valders.

After Donald passed on September 29, 2009, Virginia lived in Valders for several years until she decided to move to Felician Village, Manitowoc.
