Walter J. Dabeck Jr., age 92, of Manitowoc passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at his residence.

Walter was born February 13, 1933, in Iron River, MI, a son of the late Walter and Julia (Turosky) Dabeck Sr. He attended schools in Iron River, MI, graduating from Iron River High School with the class of 1951. He then attended Northern Michigan College of Education where he received a BA degree. He then attended Michigan State University where he obtained a Master of Arts degree in teaching. On March 24, 1956, Walt married the former Anna Marie Paquette. She preceded him in death on April 14, 1998. Walt was a teacher at Republic High School, Republic, MI from 1955 to 1966 and from 1966 until his retirement in 1994 he taught at Woodrow Wilson Jr. High School, Manitowoc. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish.

He is survived by one son and two daughters-in-law: James (Dawn) Dabeck, Manitowoc, Ann Dabeck, Green Bay; two daughters and sons-in-law: Donna Dabeck (Richard Novosad), AZ, and Mary (David) Marks, IA; eight grandchildren: Stephanie (Benjamin) Jones, OR, Nicholaus (Kate) Novosad, Canada, Jameson (Micayla) Dabeck, Madison, Robenson Dabeck, Green Bay, Malachia (Aaron) Murphy, FL, Karen Marks and significant other Mike Olague, IA, Eric Marks and his fiancée Ashley Brumm, WA, Julia Marks, RI; six great-grandchildren; one sister: Pauline Friend, MI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Julia Dabeck Sr.; wife: Anna Marie Dabeck; one son: Deacon Michael Dabeck; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Alice Povich, Mary Ann Fritch, Bob Friend, Julie (Donald) McDonald.
