Warren Wittkopp Jr. Obituary

Warren Arno Wittkopp Jr was born in Plymouth, WI, on October 14,1948, to Warren Arno Sr. and Dorothy Mae (Dellinger) Wittkopp.  He passed from this life suddenly on March 24, 2025.

Warren attended high school in Plymouth, attended Valparaiso University in Indiana for two years, and later graduated in 1971 from Cincinnati School of Mortuary Science.  He joined his father’s business, Wittkopp Funeral Service - later known as Wittkopp Funeral and Cremation Services - becoming the third generation Funeral Director to own and operate the funeral home.  In the mid-70’s Warren stood alongside and supported his father as the funeral home established Wittkopp Ambulance in the community.  In 1983 the ambulance service was donated to the Plymouth community and Plymouth Ambulance was founded, later transitioning to Orange Cross Ambulance. Warren, and Wittkopp Funeral and Cremation Services, proudly celebrated 100 years of service in 2010.  After 48 years of serving his community in this capacity, he retired in 2012.

Warren loved his family and was very dedicated to his church and his community. He served on the Board of Directors for St John Lutheran Church and Plymouth Ambulance, and was actively involved in Jaycees, Rotary, and numerous other local organizations. Music was a true passion for Warren, expressed through his vibrant singing as a choir member and soloist at his church, as well as in captivating performances at the Plymouth Arts Center to support the Plymouth Arts Foundation. Renowned for delivering ‘quite the show’ he shared his talents for years with the Chorus of the Kettle Moraine and his quartet, The Unsung Heros, leaving a lasting impression on all who heard him.

His many hobbies included training his Labrador and Golden Retrievers; riding and training horses for a period of time; and was an active fisherman and hunter spending many years up at Lake Namakagon in Northern WI with family, friends and his hunting buddies.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife and mother of his children, Corinne S. (Fouts) Wittkopp; his brother, George F. Wittkopp; and brothers-in-law, Rev. John Mason III and Curtis Capelle.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Ann (Ferguson) Wittkopp and his former wife, Margaret Wittkopp, both of whom shared significant chapters of his life; his sisters, Bonnie Capelle and Sallie Mason; his children, Heather Wittkopp-Kienast (Greg Lasica), Gregory Wittkopp (Kelly Felton), and Meredith McCoy (Kraig); his nine grandchildren: Hannah, Douglas, Andrea, and Megan Kienast; Jacob and Hailey Wittkopp; and Connor, Evelyn and Liam McCoy; his step-daughter Mary Liz Aldridge (Steve) and their three children Cordelia, Preston and Pierce Aldridge; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
