William Maser Obituary

William E. Maser, 99, of Plymouth died on Monday evening, February 20, 2017 at St. Nicholas Hospital. William was born on January 18, 1918 in Maple Heights, Ohio a son to the late Daniel and Anne (Beacon) Maser. He attended schools in Ohio, graduating from High School in 1936. On June 8, 1945 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Vick. They resided in Germany where he was stationed with U.S. Air Force. His Air Force career took them to Wichita Falls, TX, Tulsa, OK, Samson Air Base in New York State, Goose Bay Labrador, CA and Great Falls, MT. He retired from the Air Force as a Major. In 1961 he and Dorothy moved to Plymouth where he was executive director of the Plymouth Housing Authority for 20 years until his retirement. Dorothy preceded him in death on June 8, 2010. William enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping in northern Wisconsin. William was a member of Salem U.C.C. in Plymouth and had served on its Consistory for 20 years. He was also a member of the Reserve Officers Association, Military Officers Association and the Ladwig-Zinkgraf American Legion Post 243 in Plymouth. William is survived by his three grandchildren, Jonathan (Megan) Maser of New Berlin, Michael (Megan) Maser of Shanghai, China and Jennifer (Marlon) Garcia of Vernon Hill, IL; two brothers, Robert (Selma) Maser of Mesick, MI and Neal (Vera) Maser of Glendale, AZ; and a great grandson Logan Garcia. William was preceded in death by a son Thomas Maser; a daughter-in-law Jean Maser; two brothers, Walter Maser and Leonard Maser, and a sister Eleanor Kolb. A private family service will be held at a later date with inurnment to be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery at King, Wisconsin
